This Sunday we honor the confluence of two holidays, the civil celebration of Veteran’s Day and the start of the Hindu festival of Diwali.  At the nexus of these two celebrations is the experience of the warrior returning home and the communities which await their return lighting a path through the darkness to welcome them in.  As one commentator has said, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.” Join us for this special celebration which also includes this month’s 8th Principle Moment when we honor our community’s ongoing commitment to be anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and multicultural.
