Faith In Action – Get Out The Vote News – Keep Making Good Trouble

get out the vote poster

Merci!    ¡Muchas gracias    Thank you!

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your tremendous generosity and response to our request for donations of money and stamps.

The best news, drum roll please, we have exceeded our goal for letter and postcard writing!  This is due to huge numbers of letters written by a few individuals and small batches of letters and postcards written by many people.  This is how it gets done with everyone doing what they can.  We’re not done yet!  If you have been doing any letters or postcards with Moms Rising, Reclaim Our Vote, Vote Forward or other non-partisan organization and have not yet reported that to us, please let us know.  What type, with which organization, where the correspondence is going to, and date mailed.  Email us at  and we will include you in our tally for reporting to the UUA.

To qualify as a UUA Good Trouble* Congregation in 2024, we still need 351 phone calls to be made.  Please help chip away at this goal one call at a time!  If you consider yourself an introvert, there is a special phone bank scheduled on 10/17/24 just for you!  The list of guided phone banks on zoom can be found on this phone banking page along with lots of resources:  https://www.centerforcommonground.org/phonebanks

You can view this training video to see how it works. http://centerforcommonground.org/pdi.  You can also check out the Guidelines. Calls can be made on your own from 9 AM to 8 PM for the time zone you’re calling (except Sunday mornings). If you would prefer to do letter-writing instead or in addition to phone calls, please go to Vote Forward’s website and choose a campaign at https://votefwd.org/.  We have until October 14 to mail out the letters.

All activities with the GOtV Team are listed here.  All of us are needed in the fight to make the world a better place for all, one voter at a time.

Stay tuned for the Good Trouble discussions and events that will be held before the November 5th election.  We want everyone prepared to vote.

In solidarity and faith,

Beth Posner-Waldron, Coordinator, UUCW Get Out the Vote Team

*The reference to “good trouble” is taken from the late Congressman John Lewis who said “…Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.”
