In Memoriam – Birgit & John Patterson

A Celebration of Life will be held for Birgit and John Patterson on Saturday, July 27 @ 11 am at UUCW. Please join the family at a lunch in Fellowship Hall following the Celebration of Life.

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the death of Birgit Patterson, who died on June 26, 2024, surrounded by family, at Oriol Health Care – Skilled Nursing Center in Holden, MA. Birgit and her husband John, also deceased, and family (Nancy Hancock – daughter) have graced our congregation for over 50 years. She held many leadership positions within the church and was active in the Women’s Circle for many years. She fondly recalled many a church supper and gathering and was steadfast in her concern that nothing be wasted after events, making certain left-over coffee went home with someone. More recently, Birgit was the church historian collecting and cataloging news clips and pictures and compiling several scrapbooks that members and friends cherish. And, while receiving much loving care from her family, she graced the Lunch with the Minister table which celebrated her 100th birthday over a year ago. With her passing comes the end of an era.
