Sheri Linn is currently serving UUCW in the role as President of the Board of Management. She and her partner, Sean, have been members for five years during which she has been involved with the Human Resources Committee, Stewardship, Health and Safety and many other activities. Mother of three daughters, graduate of Hartford Seminary and Baypath University, Sheri currently is employed as the Program Director at In the Hour of Need Family Shelter.
Michele Hernandez took on the role of Treasurer in June of 2020 during the height of the pandemic. She has been a member of UUCW since moving to Worcester in 2015, and was previously a member of First Parish in Framingham.
Michele received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Iowa, where she also minored in Finance and Economics. She has worked in areas such as residential and commercial property accounting and property management as well as retail management, and is now self-employed and driving for Uber.
Kate Bejune, Clerk of the Board – I love crafting; you will usually see me knitting or crocheting during Sunday services. I am married to Matt who is also a member of this church. We have two human children and one black lab. I work as a librarian at Assumption University. I love to read and am newly into Tarot and astrology.
Tom Pierce, Board Member – I have been a member of UUCW for almost 50 years. I am retired after working for a life insurance company for 40 years. I grew up as an “Army Brat”. My wife, Rita, died in 2020. My daughter, Katie lives near Paris with her family. She is president of the UU Fellowship in Paris. My son, Jonathan and his family live in Round Rock, TX. He teaches neuroscience at the University of Texas.
Sue Neaz, Board Member has been a member of UUCW for about 25 years. Married to Joe, their children Derek and Kristen were brought up in the church’s Religious Education program including Coming of Age and Youth Group. Sue is UUCW’s volunteer coordinator for IHN, has helped organize the CROP Walk event for several years, was on the Loaves & Fishes team for several years, and helps out with many other ministries of the congregation.
Brian Keyo, Board Member – 54 years old. Worcester resident since 2004. Been a member of UUCW for 15 years. I’ve taught RE and been a mentor for Coming of Age Program. I’ve served on the Board of Management for several years now, and my term ends in 2023.
Bruce Leshay, Board Member – I have been attending UUCW since about 1995, and signed the book around 2000. This is my second time serving on the Board of Management. Over the years, I have also served on the Nominating Committee, the Futures Team, and taught in RE. I’ve been a Coming of Age mentor for four of our youth, and am going on my 18th year as a youth group advisor. On the personal side, Cheryl and I have been married for 41 years, we have two children and three grandchildren.
Melissa McKeon, Board Member has been a member of UUCW for more than 20 years and has volunteered for several church boards. She has been a religious exploration teacher and now volunteers for the food pantry and Garden-On. She is a writer and mom to young adult Annie, who was raised in this church.
