During Friday’s frigid weather, a tree fell onto the building that houses LGBT Asylum clients, causing extensive damage. Thankfully, nobody was injured. Power and heat were lost displacing all of the asylum seekers who were residing there. Several supporters have stepped forward to house some. The others are currently staying at a local hotel, which is costing us $1,000 per night.
Are you able to contribute to this unforeseen expense or host an asylum seeker for a few days? The estimate is to have enough repairs done for folks to be able to return within a week.
You can donate on our website lgbtasylum.org/donate or send a check to LGBT Asylum Task Force, 6 Clover Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
If you are in the Worcester area and are able to host for a few days, please email
Thanks for being there in our time of need!
